Boys & Girls Club = More Access

Through engaging academic and career programs, Boys & Girls Clubs of Hawaii is filling the learning gap faced by many of the kids and families we serve.

We partner with community partners, families, and school districts to close the gap and provide our students with expanded learning opportunities through after school, summer, and school day programming.

  • 15,850 children and teens accessed Boys & Girls Club of Hawaii programs in 2017 (at the club or through outreach programs).
  • Hawaii students receive up to an average of 4.6 hours of expanded learning and engagement time each day, a 58% increase over the school day alone. That’s the equivalent of 136 extra school days.
  • 24% of our youth avoid summer learning loss by participating in our Summer Programs.
