Since 1947, Youth of the Year has been Boys & Girls Club of America’s premier recognition program, celebrating the extraordinary achievements of Club teens. Over the years, these individuals have exemplified the Boys & Girls Club mission and are proof to the impact Clubs make in transforming and saving kids’ lives.

Candidates who have competed in the YOY Academy and Competition, have gone on to great success.  YOY is arguably one of the most impactful and rewarding events of the year!

2022 Youth of the Year

Today’s students are facing difficult decisions about their future, including whether college is an affordable expense.
At the Boys & Girls Club we believe that every child deserves a bright future and why funds raised through this
year’s Youth of the Year celebration will go to support academic scholarships and life-changing teen programs at
BGCH.
As we continue to navigate through these uncertain times, we invite you to join us for a one of a kind Drive-In
Celebration and Movie Event as we highlight our extraordinary youth and their accomplishments.
The winner of the BGCH YOY Competition (Feb. 19, 2022) will then compete for the 2022 Hawaiʻi State Youth of
the Year title on March 29, 2022. That winner goes on to compete in the Pacific Regional competition this summer.
