Intent to Apply for Nita M. Lowey 21st Century Community Learning Center
(2/1/2025): Boys & Girls Club of Hawaii intends to apply for a Nita M. Lowey 21st Century Community Learning Center grant to fund Comprehensive After School Programs for eligible, qualified school sites at its Clubhouses. The grant has been released by the Hawaii State Department of Education’s Office of Strategy, Innovation, and Performance Community Engagement Branch.
The 21st CCLC funding is for elementary or middle school programs that support the creation of community learning centers that provide academic enrichment opportunities during non- school hours for children, particularly students who attend high-poverty and low-performing schools and their families.
If awarded, this grant will enable Boys & Girls Club of Hawaii to continue to expand educational and enrichment programs that support student success including tutoring, homework assistance, STEM, literacy programs and student support activities. This program will also provide essential services to families, fostering a stronger connection between school, home and the community.
