At the Boys & Girls Club of Hawaii, doing whatever it takes meant adapting and increasing our Club hours from afternoons only to opening all day to include school hours. It meant providing adult staff who assist students with distance learning in a safe place to combat learning loss.

It meant providing Wi-Fi and technology, and tutoring as needed. It meant providing meals to our members and communities through our Clubhouses and it meant creating innovative programs to keep our members healthy, active, and engaged during this difficult time.

In February 2021, Honolulu Civil Beat reported that 38% of Hawaii high school students are not on track to graduate on time and are falling behind in school during the pandemic.

Sadly to say, the gap of opportunity for many youth has also now widened. That means our work has just started and YOUR SUPPORT IS NEEDED MORE THAN EVER.
